20th Century Boys
Kenji Endo traded his electric guitar for a convenience store apron years ago, but the ghosts of his childhood are finally catching up to him. What started as a silly game of playing hero in 1969 has mutated into a terrifying cult conspiracy led by a masked figure known only as Friend. As people begin to disappear and a lethal virus threatens the globe, Kenji realizes that the bizarre catastrophes occurring across Tokyo are ripped straight from the Book of Prophecy he and his friends wrote as kids. The obstacle is no longer a schoolyard bully, but a mastermind who has hijacked their innocence to orchestrate the end of the world. Now, Kenji must rally his estranged childhood gang to stop a disaster they unintentionally designed. It is a haunting, high-stakes race to reclaim their past and save a future that is rapidly slipping through their fingers.
